Other Models

Whether they call themselves Neutral Vendors, RPO’s or MSP’s etc, the marketplace has seen a steady increase in the power and influence of 1st Tier suppliers (many of whom are not even recruitment agencies) taking over large contracts and passing down some or all of the staffing requirements to smaller, S.M.E. 2nd Tier recruiters.

They do this with comprehensive IT systems designed around a few key power based, command-and-control focussed principles, e.g.

  • Control the Charge Rates
  • Control the Cash
  • Control the Contracts (& Add-On’s!)
  • Control the Communications

Their model runs on “divide-&-rule” tactics with total control by the MSP and with little or no value being placed on the 2nd tier agencies. This exploitation of the S.M.E.’s can result in a relationship with a very negative psychology, culture & ethics, sometimes to the extent that the agencies withdraw (taking their temps out of the talent pool).

Concerto

We are introducing an innovative, new approach whereby the system could put you in the position of a customer’s “lead” agency, instead of being just a recipient of those other facilitator’s vacancies. As the system allows a whole new way of considering potential business opportunities, then the source of opportunities could be from existing, potential or even formerly untouchable customers!

Concerto gives agency clients an opportunity to optimise their business opportunities and obtain larger contracts, which may currently be unobtainable for the following reasons:

  • you are just one-of-many agency suppliers; or
  • you can’t fulfil the whole temp requirement of the customer e.g. due to geographical constraints); or
  • you are being squeezed for margin by rival agencies;

If, in those situations, there is extra business available but it would require a syndicated or friendly alliance of other agencies to work with then Concerto is the software tool that could make that a reality.

Alternatively, it could be used to put you into the position of “Lead Agency” where you, as the provider of the IT system, can offer to provide 1st Tier services to the end-user customer. You would be able to allow the customer to benefit from standardised vacancy distribution, electronic timesheet management, approval methods, consolidated invoicing and Accounts Payable savings.
